Ministry Foundations Track
(30 Credits, 10 Courses | Covers 7 Competencies – For Every Person in the Church | Begins March 2nd)
This Ministry Foundations pathway prepares students with Seven Core Competencies across ten essential courses. It’s designed to help believers build a strong biblical and theological base while developing Spirit-led leadership and ministry skills. Whether you’re preparing for pastoral ministry or lay leadership, this track integrates Scripture, theology, and real-world application to help you serve with confidence and clarity.
BIB 101 – NT Foundations: Jesus & the Early Church
📖 Course Description: Study the life of Jesus, the birth of the Church, and the apostolic teachings found in the Gospels, Acts, Epistles, and Revelation. Students will engage with the major theological themes and historical contexts of the New Testament with an emphasis on application to discipleship and ministry.
BIB 102 – OT Foundations: God’s Covenant Story
📖 Course Description: Explore God’s unfolding covenant story across the Law, Prophets, and Writings. This course surveys major historical events, prophetic messages, and wisdom literature, helping students understand how the Old Testament points to Christ and shapes Christian theology and ministry today.
THE 101 – Believing the Essentials: Christian Doctrine I
📖 Course Description: This course introduces the ten core doctrines that define the Christian faith, including the nature of God, the Trinity, Christology, salvation, Scripture, creation, humanity, sin, the Church, and last things (basic eschatology). Students will build a biblical framework for sound doctrine and spiritual maturity rooted in historical orthodoxy, equipping them to stand firm in faith and communicate biblical truth with clarity.
THE 102 – Spirit-Empowered Living: Christian Doctrine II
📖 Course Description: This course explores the Christian life through the lens of Spirit-empowered theology and practice. Rooted in Pentecostal convictions yet engaging a range of Christian traditions, students will examine key doctrines related to the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of God, healing, spiritual gifts, Spirit baptism, eschatology, and spiritual warfare.
HIS 102 – Revival & Reform: A Journey In Church History
📖 Course Description: Trace the development of the Church from the Protestant Reformation to the global renewal movements of the 20th and 21st centuries. Students will explore key figures, revivals, theological shifts, and Spirit-led movements that have influenced the Church’s mission, identity, and growth.
MIN 101 – Rooted and Sent: A Life of Discipleship
📖 Course Description: Discover what it means to follow Jesus faithfully and invite others to do the same. This course explores personal spiritual growth, relational discipleship, and natural ways to share your faith in everyday life. Learn biblical patterns of disciple-making and how to live missionally in your home, community, and church.
MIN 102 – Preaching That Connects
📖 Course Description: Develop bold, Spirit-empowered preaching skills rooted in Scripture and led by the Holy Spirit. Learn to interpret biblical texts, craft compelling sermon structures, and deliver messages with clarity, conviction, and relevance. This course is designed for those preparing to preach in local churches, small groups, and evangelistic settings, helping students grow in both theological depth and Spirit-led boldness behind the pulpit.
MIN 103 – Forming the Leader: From the Inside & Out
📖 Course Description: This course explores the inner life and outward practices of effective Christian leadership. Students will reflect on their spiritual formation while building practical skills in team leadership, emotional intelligence, mentorship, and servant leadership. Learn how to lead from a healthy, Spirit-formed core while navigating the realities of ministry today.
ADM 101 – Understanding How the Church Works
📖 Course Description: Explore the practical side of ministry leadership through biblical principles of church governance, administration, and organizational leadership. Topics include budgeting and stewardship, volunteer management, communication systems, and ministry planning. Students will be equipped to lead churches and ministries with integrity, vision, and effectiveness.
THE 103 – Worship & the Sacred: Practices that Shape Us
📖 Course Description: Examine the biblical and theological foundations of sacred practices such as baptism, communion, and worship. Students will compare ordinances and sacraments across Christian traditions and study the development of liturgy from ancient creeds to contemporary worship. The course encourages Spirit-led participation in both structured and spontaneous expressions of worship.
